Housing Stewardship Coordinator
Araceli King is dedicated to building community power by cultivating resident leadership, developing local leaders, and strengthening resident participation in community-owned housing. With decades of experience in community engagement, Araceli is skilled at building trust across diverse communities and creating spaces where residents feel heard, connected, and empowered to lead. At LBCLT, she works closely with residents to establish and support resident councils, cultivate leadership, strengthen resident stewardship, connect neighbors to one another, and foster shared decision-making so residents play an active role in shaping their homes and communities.
Throughout her career, Araceli has brought together workers, families, students, and community members around issues ranging from housing and neighborhood improvement to worker rights and civic engagement. She has supervised and trained large teams of canvassers, mentored emerging leaders, facilitated community meetings, and built lasting relationships with residents across diverse communities. Her experience has strengthened her ability to bring people together, develop local leadership, and build communities rooted in collaboration and collective care.
Araceli continues to serve in leadership roles with several local community organizations and has been recognized for her commitment to community service and leadership. She is passionate about helping residents discover their own leadership potential and ensuring that community-owned housing is supported by strong, connected communities where residents are active stewards of their neighborhoods.
