This month’s meeting is the perfect introduction for newcomers and a great refresher for all about CLTs. We’ll be laying the foundation of our movement together and collectively define what the core ideas of Community, Land, and Trust mean to us. Everyone is welcome. Our first walk will take us to a local native plant restoration site at Colorado Lagoon, where we’ll reflect together and experience the tastes of local native plants. 🌱

📍 Where: Colorado Lagoon, 5059 E Colorado St, Long Beach (We will meet near the restrooms)

*Accessibility: The walk will include crossing the boardwalk (wheelchair accessible!). We will walk about 0.3 miles on level ground, only doing a portion of the trail.

Update ✨🏡: On September 9th, the Long Beach C Update ✨🏡: On September 9th, the Long Beach City Council voted to allocate $200,000 to the Long Beach CLT — an investment that helps build community-stewarded, permanently affordable housing and opens pathways to homeownership for families across Long Beach.

Thank you to the community for showing up throughout this budget season. From sending thousands of letters to sharing your stories, your voices are making housing stability and long-term affordability possible for generations to come.

A special thank you to Mayor Rex Richardson, the Budget Oversight Committee, and the Long Beach City Council for supporting the creation of community-rooted housing solutions.
